Premature Ejaculation
When a male ejaculates prematurely (PE), with little to no penile stimulation, shortly after starting a sexual activity, he most likely experiences an orgasm as well. Other names for it include premature
climax, quick climax, early ejaculation, and (historically) ejaculatio praecox. Although there is no set standard for determining "premature," the International Society for Sexual Medicine's panel of specialists agreed on a threshold that is around one minute after penetration. A 15-second cutoff is
used by the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) from the start of sexual activity.

Men with PE frequently express emotional distress and interpersonal problems, and some men with PE choose not to pursue romantic relationships due to PE-related humiliation. Women are less concerned
about PE than men are, but research suggests that female spouses are similarly distressed by the disease.

Premature ejaculation causes include:
· genetic factors involving molecules that communicate between nerves;· psychological factors (such as stress, anxiety, and relationship issues);
· and other health issues (e.g. abnormal hormone levels)
A third to a quarter of men who experience premature ejaculation also struggle to achieve or maintain an erection.
Premature ejaculation treatment
It is wise to consult a GP (doctor) or sex therapist if you experience premature ejaculation.
Premature ejaculation has a variety of treatments depending on the reason and whether it is acquired or lifelong.
Among the treatments is
· "The stop-start approach."
When engaging in sexual activity, pause and take a break until the urge to
ejaculate has passed before starting again.
· "The squeezing method."
Squeezing your penis slightly below the glans (the "head" of the
penis") will eliminate the urge to ejaculate.
Treatment of the underlying issue, including acupuncture,
pelvic floor exercises, masturbation before sex, reducing penile sensitivity
(e.g., by using a condom), medicine (e.g., antidepressants can delay
ejaculation times), and medication (e.g. medication for erectile dysfunction,
hormone treatment)
